Hello! I’m CATARSIS, a Colombian urban and visual artist. Born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, and I now call Fort Lauderdale, Florida home.

Art has always been a way for me to express emotions, from personal experiences to broader societal themes, blending both my Colombian heritage and my American experiences.

I developed a deep connection to art, experimenting with different

forms and mediums along the way. Through my work, I aim to express the emotional complexities of life-touching on everything from personal feelings to societal issues.

I use a variety of characters, vibrant colors, lettering and diverse

materials to bring my ideas to life, whether it's through large urban

murals or temporary installations. My goal is to create a visual

conversation with the community, turning everyday moments into

something meaningful and transformative.

Art, for me, is about more than just aesthetics; it's about connection, expression, and sparking emotions that lead to reflection and joy. I want my work to not only share my perspective but also to inspire others to think deeply and feel uplifted.

Statement:

My work is driven by the desire to evoke feelings of connection and nostalgia. Most of the time, I focus on neglected spaces, transforming them into vibrant, welcoming environments that make people feel safe. Through characters and scenes that resonate with personal memories, especially those from childhood, I aim to spark joy and excitement. These transformed spaces become places where people feel drawn to stop by, walk their dogs, pick up trash, and even take pictures—reconnecting with their surroundings and fostering a sense of community.
